 Induction Days of ALECSO and ISESCO

(QNA) - The Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Sports hosted the induction days of the  Education, Culture and Science Organization (ALECSO) and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) at the ministry's headquarters on Monday. The event was attended by the representatives of the two organizations, the Qatar National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, officials of the Ministry and a number of employees.

In her remarks, Secretary-General of the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science Dr. Hamda Hassan Al-Sulaiti spoke about the cooperation and coordination relations that bind the Commission with international and regional organizations, including ALECSO and ISESCO, and ways to benefit from these organizations in the development and modernization of educational, cultural and media policies in the country.

Dr. Al-Sulaiti pointed out that the State of Qatar was one of the first countries to join the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It established the National Commission to act as a liaison between that organization and the ministries and authorities concerned with the sectors of education, science, culture and information in the country to benefit from the UNESCO services, programs and projects, she said. After the establishment of ALECSO and the ISESCO, the Qatari National Commission was also tasked with dealing with these two organizations, as well as the regional and sub-offices of these organizations, she added.

The Secretary-General stressed that the distinguished relations between the State of Qatar and these organizations continued in order to take advantage of its potential as a civilized framework in which people reunite to contribute together in building human beings, and to foster a spirit of solidarity and integration among human beings, adding that cooperation with these organizations has a positive impact on many development projects and plans in the country through the implementation of the programs and activities of these organizations, and many agreements signed with the ministries and relevant institutions in the country.

Head of the Directorate of the Executive Council, General Conference and Specialized Conferences of ISESCO Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghamari delivered a speech in which he praised the distinguished relations between the ISESCO and the State of Qatar through a number of ministries and national institutions and charitable and humanitarian organizations in various educational, cultural and scientific fields.

He pointed to the priority of strengthening the organization's relations with the national committees.

He explained that the new general directions of the organization will give more attention to the implementation of concrete activities and field projects for the benefit of member states and the adoption of a new approach to the relationship with the national committees within the framework of a renewed understanding of the rapid changes of Islamic societies.

Mr. Amine Dahmani, representing of ALECSO, expressed appreciation of the continuous cooperation and coordination between Qatar and the Organization, which contributes to the integration of efforts to make the Organization's programs and projects a success.

At a session held today a comprehensive presentation on the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science was delivered.

During the session, ISESCO briefed on its objectives, organs, internal systems, the Executive Council, the General Conference and other conferences, as well as the most important features of the new strategic plans 2020-2029, as well as the most important achievements of the Organization and international cooperation. It also introduced ISESCO ambassador program, capitals of Islamic cultural program, and highlighted the need to strengthen the efforts of international organizations to spread the culture of dialogue, peace and coexistence and renouncing extremism.

During the session, ALECSO representatives talked about the need to strengthen cooperation and coordination between international organizations and national committees in order to enhance cooperation between ALECSO, ISESCO and the GCC education bureau to benefit from the projects of international and regional organizations.
