 National Commission Participates in Meeting of Secretaries General of ISESCO National Commissions

(QNA) - The National Commission for Education, Culture and Science participated in the Meeting of the Secretaries General of the National Commissions at the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), which was held in the Iranian city of Shiraz on November 11 and 12.

In her report to the meeting, Secretary-General of the National Commission for Education, Culture and Science Dr. Hamda Al-Sulaiti highlighted the efforts exerted by the State of Qatar in promoting science, technology and innovation, and to the initiative announced by His Highness the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to provide quality education to one million girl around the world by 2021.

Dr. Al-Sulaiti stressed the importance of enhancing the scientific publications in the field of scientific research for ISESCO Member States in accordance with the teachings of the Islamic religion, which encourages science and learning.

She proposed a common vision on the outcomes of this meeting to be presented to the Ministers of Higher Education at the organization in their upcoming meetings, and called for identifying the role of the Islamic World Observatory of Science, Technology and Innovation in encouraging countries to undertake further scientific research.

Dr. Al-Sulaiti reviewed the efforts of Qatari women in working to achieve a balance between the duties of the family and its requirements and the requirements of work.

The meeting discussed many topics related to scientific research, innovation and science, as well as presentations and reports on joint cooperation in the field of marketing and entrepreneurship education, key performance indicators for higher education in Islamic countries and other related topics.
