 QNCECS, Sasol Hold "Accessible Qatar" Workshop

The Qatar National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, in cooperation with Sasol, the International Company for Energy and Chemicals, concluded the third training workshop "Accessible Qatar" that lasted for two days at the Arab Educational Training Center for Gulf States

The "Accessible Qatar" application, a Sasol initiative, aims to ensure that people with disabilities participate in all community, educational, recreational and sports activities.
The workshop addressed the topic of raising awareness and monitoring on the accessibility of facilities and sites for people with disabilities. Representatives of the Evaluation Institute, the Health and Safety Department of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Ministry of Public Health took part in the event.
Sasol’s “Accessible Qatar” is the first e-application of its kind in the region to provide instant and reliable information on the level of accessibility for people with disabilities to various public and tourist destinations across the State of Qatar.
Over the past months, four training courses were offered to the personnel of Qatar Tourism Authority and stakeholders of the Empowerment Forum of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and the Ministry of Public Health. Public.
Participants received practical training at a Doha hotel and at Khalifa International Stadium that will host the opening ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as well as practicing at a health center and a public education school.
This new application presents an important opportunity for members of Qatar Tourism Authority’s different departments and members of the Empowerment Forum of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Ministry of Public Health to feed the new application #Accessible_Qatar with new information on accessibility to educational institutions, including private and public schools, nurseries and kindergartens
“Accessible Qatar” is the first e-application and website of its kind in the region to provide instant and reliable information on the level of accessibility for people with disabilities to various public and tourist destinations across the State of Qatar. The "Accessible Qatar" application, a Sasol initiative, provides expert review information as well as user opinions and ratings to give people with disabilities the confidence to visit places according to its level of accessibility.
