Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO)
Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) is a specialized organization which operates within the Organization of the Islamic Co-operation (OIC). ISESCO, based in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, was founded in accordance with a resolution adopted by the Third Islamic Summit Conference held in Makkah in January 1981. ISESCO has 52 members which are also state members of the Islamic Co-operation Organization. ISESCO aims at promoting and strengthening co-operation within state members in educational, cultural and scientific areas. ISESCO is headed by a Director General. The organizational structure is composed of the General Conference, the Executive Council and the General Directorate which has different specialized directorates. ISESCO has field offices, educational centres and representative offices in a number of Islamic state members of the Organization.
